OK Ustad Institute is a research-driven academic institution producing internationally recognised research, education, and outreach founded on a scholarly and plural understanding of Islam and Muslim cultures. Our aim is to present an authentic perspective by employing and contributing to the development of new methods and theories in the study of Islam and Muslim cultures. To realise our goals, we adopt an interdisciplinary, comparative, collaborative, and analytical approach within a framework of the study of cultures and civilizations. Our ambition is to further promote global scholarship, create scholarly learning networks within and outside the Indian sub-continent, foster academic spaces for scholars, encourage open discussions, and increase academic and public engagement.
Quranic research and its dissemination have stood the test of time adapting and addressing the ever-changing educational and social scenario. Here we develop an excellent centre for advanced study and research on Quran and its allied subjects. Integrated with modern academics, the centre will strive to adopt comprehensive syllabi encompassing all aspects of theology, jurisprudence, etiquettes, literature, and exegesis of Quran. This center provides full-time, part-time, and diploma courses in different subjects of Islamic sciences, specifically of Quran studies integrated with modern science, business, law, literature, language, and academics.
To accelerate research and in-depth studies in a number of disciplines, Ok Ustad Institute is setting a world-class center equipped with best-in-class facilities. The institute consists of a research division, calligraphy institute, art museum, digital library, resource center, lingo lab, animation center, conference hall, and web magazine. In addition to being a center for excellence, it aims to build an interdisciplinary library and information center, dialogue hall, and Museum to compile all traditional heritage of Malabar and other regions.
The library and research division proposed to be set up in the institute would be holding over thousands of volumes on a range of topics including religion and philosophy, history, social sciences, art and architecture, literature, and education. The main focus of the collection is Islamic studies in general and Qur’anic studies in particular. The library will have an extensive collection of materials focused on Muslim civilizations, past and present, as well as regional history around the world. As part of its commitment to becoming one of India’s highest quality Islamic studies libraries, the library will grow its collection through informed acquisitions of newly published works; subscriptions to print journals, magazines, and newspapers; and the expansion of its digital collection which offers access to leading journals, databases, encyclopaedias, dictionaries and other reference resources to support research and teaching.
The CIER is an exclusive platform of scholars formed to deal with different kinds of contemporary issues and analyse it from an Islamic perspective. The CIER receives questions on newly-emerging issues demanding religious guidelines after analysing the same through the prism of Islamic Jurisprudence. This centre will also provide Diploma in Transformational Leadership for Imams, Certificate course in Islamic Practice for women, Trainers' Training for women, Resource Persons' Enhancement course, and Residential vocational camp.
